Serves: 8 to 10
Prep time: 20 minutes
Bake Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
1 cup salted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2-1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
48 saltine crackers
Directions:
On an 18x12 cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper, layer the saltine crackers. Layer the crackers as evenly as possible, without overlapping them. Tip: Crinkle the parchment paper to make it flat and easy to work with.
Now we make the toffee. In a saucepan over medium heat, add in the brown sugar and butter. Stir for 5 to 7 minutes, until the ingredients are melted together and come up to a gentle boil. Pour the toffee over the saltine crackers and evenly spread the toffee with a spatula.
Place the toffee and crackers into the oven at 350F, and bake for 8 minutes.
Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the toffee crackers. Place everything back into the oven for two minutes, in order to make the chocolate spreadable. Remove from the oven and spread the chocolate evenly. While your chocolate is still melted, place your sprinkles on top.
Allow the crack to come to room temperature for 1 hour. Then, place your crack into the fridge for 2 hours or until firm. Once it is firm, you can crack it into pieces. Make sure to keep refrigerated.
