Prep Time: 5 minutes (not including ricotta cheese prep)
Ingredients
1 - 8oz package softened cream cheese
1 package ricotta cheese (475g)
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
zest of 1 lemon or 1 orange
1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
waffle cones for dipping
Directions:
Prepare The Ricotta Cheese:
Start by placing a coffee filter or a cheese cloth into a sieve. Then, place your ricotta cheese on top of the coffee filter. Place the sieve on top of a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Place a heavy bowl on top of the plastic wrap and put it in your fridge for two hours. This will remove all the liquid and moisture from the ricotta cheese.
Into a bowl, add cream cheese and ricotta cheese. Mix until you have a smooth consistency. Then, add in the vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and the lemon zest. Mix until smooth.
Fold in the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips with a spatula. Top with more mini chocolate chips.
Place your cannoli dip into a bowl and use waffle cone pieces for dipping.
This dip lasts 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.
