Prep Time: 5 minutes (not including ricotta cheese prep)


Ingredients


  • 1 - 8oz package softened cream cheese

  • 1 package ricotta cheese (475g)

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • zest of 1 lemon or 1 orange

  • 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ​waffle cones for dipping


Directions:


Prepare The Ricotta Cheese:


Start by placing a coffee filter or a cheese cloth into a sieve. Then, place your ricotta cheese on top of the coffee filter. Place the sieve on top of a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Place a heavy bowl on top of the plastic wrap and put it in your fridge for two hours. This will remove all the liquid and moisture from the ricotta cheese.


  1. Into a bowl, add cream cheese and ricotta cheese. Mix until you have a smooth consistency. Then, add in the vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and the lemon zest. Mix until smooth.

  2. Fold in the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips with a spatula. Top with more mini chocolate chips.

  3. Place your cannoli dip into a bowl and use waffle cone pieces for dipping.

  4. This dip lasts 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.
