The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies & Cookie Bars (One dough makes two treats)

Bake Time: 11 minutes for cookies & 20 to 25 minutes for cookie bars
Ingredients
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2-1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Chocolate Chip Cookies:
Preheat oven to 350F. Into a bowl, add the butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Mix for four minutes. Then, add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix again, until well combined.
In a separate bowl, add the flour, baking soda and salt. Using a spoon or whisk, mix the dry ingredients. Then, add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Add them in two parts.
Fold the chocolate chips into the cookie dough with a spatula.
Prepare a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place tablespoonfuls of cookie dough onto your prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 11 minutes and then let the cookies cool for 5 minutes on the pan, before placing on a cooling rack to cool completely.
Cookie Bars:
Preheat oven to 375F. Grease a 9x9 baking pan and line it with parchment paper. Now, grease your hands with some non-stick spray, and using the cookie dough recipe from above, press the dough into your prepared baking pan and evenly spread it out.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the pan, before cutting.
