Homemade Ketchup

Ingredients


  • 1 - 6oz can tomato paste

  • 1 cup tomato sauce or pasta

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice


Directions:


  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and stir until well combined. Place over medium heat.

  2. Bring the mixture up to a gentle boil. Then, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir continuously.

  3. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

  4. Place Ketchup in a mason jar or a glass container and cover tightly with the lid. Keep refrigerated. Lasts up to 14 days.

  5. When making your Ketchup, you can adjust the spices and sweetness to your liking.
