Serves: 7
Prep time: 20 Minutes
Bake time: 20-23 Minutes
Ingredients
• 4 cups self-rising flour
• 2 cups buttermilk
• 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
Directions:
In a bowl, add in the self rising flour, salt (optional) and buttermilk. Start by mixing with a wooden spoon until mostly combined, then use your hands to form the dough until no flour remains.
Lightly flour your countertop and transfer the dough. Gently roll the dough into a circular 7-8 inch disk.
Use a 3 inch round cookie cutter to form each biscuit. Place the biscuits on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Gather the scraps and repeat the process until all the dough is used.
Brush the top of each biscuit with buttermilk.
Preheat the oven to 400F and bake the biscuits for 20-23 minutes.
Serve warm with butter, jam or the spread of your choosing. Enjoy!
